Dear Edna and Jess:

A nice little package of cocktail napkins came Wednesday from Hawaii - thank you so much, it was so nice of you to think of us when you were in such a whirl. I expect it is hard to realize now that you were over there it was such a quick trip. No doubt you have lots of wonderful memories.

I suppose you got home alright and that the suppoer went off all right too. I know you both must have been very tired by Sunday evening. It was so good to have you with us even tho it was so short. We haven't heard from the O---. Did your friends the Johnsons contract you? We did enjoy meeting them very much - both are so jolly and such good company.

I washed Monday as I was afraid to put it off for fear it would rain. We have had a few light sprinkles off an on all week.

The holiday gaiety is starting - received two invitations for cocktail parties in the next two weeks. One at the Morrises' (we showed you their house up on the hill not far from Olneys) and one at the Saticoy Country Club.

Has Mama gone to San Diego? Did Arthur and Blanche come?

Hope you both are well - Thanks again for the Aloha napkins. They will come in very handy.

Love to both of you

Mary

Come see us again when you can stay longer.

Love
M.E.C.

Dear Ruth

I am getting to be a shovel expert digging trenches. Sorry to hear that the baby was sick. Hope he is better by this time.
